A Puna man was charged with burglary for an August break-in.

On Aug. 27, a 56-year-old Keaau woman reported that an unknown person entered her home and removed jewelry.

Police recovered surveillance video and identified the suspect as 30-year-old Kawai Pomroy of Mountain View.

Pomroy was arrested Monday at Hawaii Community Correctional Center, where he was being detained for an unrelated incident. On Tuesday, he was charged with first-degree burglary.

His bail was set at $25,000. He made his initial court appearance Wednesday.
